Keeping hard-working Ice-O-Matic units running

Ice-O-Matic machines tend to live in demanding spots — bar wells, convenience store back rooms, hot kitchens. Heat, grease and hard water are what wear them down, so a good repair includes fixing the conditions that caused the failure.

We quote before we turn a wrench, carry the common parts on the truck and leave a documented report for every machine. If you run Ice-O-Matic units at several sites, they all go on one schedule with one invoice.

Many Ice-O-Matic failures we see trace back to a condenser packed with grease and dust in a hot room. Cleaning it and improving airflow often restores production on its own and takes strain off the compressor, which is the most expensive part to replace.

Field diagnosis

Common Ice-O-Matic problems we fix

Stopped making ice

We check water supply, filters and the condenser, then test the water valve, pump and harvest cycle until we find where production stopped.

Production dropping off

Scale, a clogged condenser in a hot room or low water flow all cut output. We clean, measure and correct the cause instead of just resetting the machine.

Cloudy ice and scale

Hard water and overdue filters leave cloudy ice and scale on the evaporator. Descaling plus the right filtration brings the ice back and protects the machine.

Leaks and standing water

Clogged drains, cracked troughs and sticking inlet valves are the common causes. We trace the water path and fix the leak at the source.

Warning light or fault

We read what the controls are reporting, confirm it with measurements and replace only the component that actually failed.

Bin overfills or runs empty

A dirty or failed bin control lets ice overflow or shuts the machine off too soon. We clean or replace it and confirm the cycle.

Ice-O-Matic cleaning & sanitation

Ice-O-Matic machines need the same full cleaning and sanitation every major manufacturer calls for — at least every six months, and quarterly in busy or hot locations. We sanitize every ice-contact surface and leave dated records for the health inspector.

Water filtration that protects your Ice-O-Matic

Scale and sediment damage are excluded from warranty coverage. A filter sized to your water and changed on schedule protects an Ice-O-Matic's evaporator and keeps the ice clear.
